I'm not done with the summer show, but it's time to start
plugging auditions for the Fall! Here's the scoop on my next project.
Want to act? or know someone who does?
Theatre @ First is having auditions for their Fall show,
"Twelve Angry Jurors" (aka 12 Angry Men) directed by
David Policar, on Monday and Tuesday, August 6-7.
"This I have always thought is a remarkable thing about democracy.
That we are notified by mail to come down to this place and decide
on the guilt or innocence of a man we have not known before. We
have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. This is one of the reasons
why we are strong. We should not make it a personal thing." (Juror 11)
Of course, "a personal thing" is exactly what it becomes for these
twelve ordinary men and women in this uncomfortable room as
they negotiate between compassion, justice, and vengeance, sifting
through doubtful reasons to find reasonable doubts.
Join us, and them, for Theatre@First's production
of Twelve Angry Jurors. Performances will be
November 9-11 and 15-17.
A wide range of ages and ethnicities is preferred.
Please bring a prepared dramatic monologue
no more than 2 minutes long. There will also be
cold readings from the play with other actors.
To reserve an audition spot, please email
auditions@theatreatfirst.org
or call 877.557.5936 with three items:
1) your name,
2) your preferred night (6th or 7th) and
3) your preferred hour (7pm, 8pm, or 9pm).
Walk-ins are welcome, but may have to wait longer.
Auditions will be held in the hall of
First Congregational Church
89 College Ave., Somerville, MA 02144
4 blocks from the Davis Square T stop
