I went back through my restaurant posts and realized that I've never blogged about one of my favorite local spots. Or if did, I didn't tag it. So here goes!
I had a lovely lunch with my parents today at Jimmy's Steer House in Arlington.

As you might have gathered from the name, it is a steak place.
There is a great debate about which is better, this place or Frank's, another house of cow a mile or so down Mass. Ave. I like them both, but Jimmy's is slightly better in my book. Jimmy's has it's own parking lot, and the food is slightly more varied.
Being a contrarian, I rarely order steak at Jimmy's. I am very partial to their baked stuffed schrod. It comes with the most amazing rice with spinach in it...yum. And free rolls. At dinner time, the salad is free, too. But those around me swear by the teriyaki steak or the juicy prime rib. And they have yummy Italian specialities as well. And the desserts are decadent...brownie Sundae, MS mud pie, many ice cream treats. But I usually don't make it that far. There's a full bar for those into such.
Their lunch prices are a blast from the past...my entire meal was $9.99. The teriyaki steak is $8.99. Hard to beat that. And the dinner prices aren't much higher...everything under $20.
This is the place that everyone takes Grandma, so it fills up early for any particular meal.
The wait staff are incredibly friendly in the old-fashioned way.
So next time you need a place to have a steak or seafood or chicken parm, I'd recommend popping up Mass Ave to Jimmy's.
