You are what you eat?

Is it true? I hope not. If so, I am a complete vegetable. Maybe a little fruity, depending on how you categorize certain salad fixings.

I was lured into the clutches of the Farmer's Market at Harvard yesterday. I'm usually not one for fresh veggies, more's the pity. My usual purchase there is a chocolate chip cookie.

But yesterday, the farm fresh goodies jumped into my bag. I ended up with those tomatoes that are so beautiful you're tempted to eat them like apples...and fresh cucumbers so crisp...and sweet corn on the cob so juicy that butter or salt seem like sacrilege. Ah! The height of the summer produce season!

This was probably the healthiest dinner I will eat all year. :)

I'm jealous. Must get some corn on the cob before it's all gone.

so far we've had out of our little garden...yellow squash, zucchini, lettuce, basil, chives and we're just waiting for the tomatoes and bell peppers to ripen up! not bad for some old flower beds on the back side of the house.

Back when I used to work in Porter, I would visit the Farmer's Market all the time. There was always the booth with the heirloom tomatoes in about fifty different shapes and colors...mmm. I actually do eat them like apples!
