I also suggest the place on Mass Ave by Porter called annapurna, if you're looking for Helmand alternatives.

You should also try Scups for dinner, though they won't be open again until "the spring." http://www.scupsintheharbour.com/about.html

I can't believe I *still* haven't been to The Haven. I would love to do brunch there, sometime.

Me too! Do you think they do the fried Mars bars for brunch?

Ooh, I'm actually keeping your list! Great ideas!

There's a fantastic Himalayan fusion place in Arlington, a few blocks down from the Capital Theater, heading towards Cambridge. It's called Kathmandu Spice and I've been several times. Each time was great.

I really love Bergamot - I've been three times now since the changeover from EVOO, and have loved it every time. I can't talk about that place enough.

I highly recommend Al Dente at 109 Salem Street in the North End - it was one of my favourites and I hope it's still as awesome as it was then - followed by a trip to Mike's Pastry on Hanover Street. :)

That was precisely what I liked about them. They were wonderfully reasonably priced, and the service was always good (pretty quick, but if for some reason it was a bit slow they were at least very friendly and apologetic about it). It had a wonderful "mom and pop" restaurant feel.

[livejournal.com profile] derspatchel and I went to Posto in Davis Square in the autumn. The food was stellar! Two of my housemates went and said they had trouble with the service, but they also loved the food.
