I had the most amazing day yesterday! The weather was perfect - sunny, 70's, breezy... The WBZ radio weatherman said, "This is one of those days you will remember in December and wish you'd made the best of it."
I went to MGH, had treatment #6 in the underground bunker and came up into the sunshine at 8:45 am. I knew I had to do something special. I could not go to work. So I called in to tell them I was playing hooky!
I spent the morning opening mail and puzzling over how to pay my bills - good to have that done.
I drove out to pick up my Mom and go to the BEACH! We went to Revere Beach, got lunch from the famous Kelly's and ate outside under one of the pavilions. It was grand! It was 77 degrees but there was a nice breeze, completely clear sky and it wasn't crowded! Whee!
I dropped her off, dashed home to get N. and dropped him at Texas Road House for a fundraiser for his radio group. The restaurant gives 10% of all food purchases to anyone who brings a coupon we handed out.
I parked in Davis Square to run errands and found a parking space! With time on the meter! 9 minutes. I went to the bank and picked up a chai latte and got back with one minute to spare.
I dashed to the theater to give my Theater@First President's welcome speech at the first read-through of "As You Like It." There will be Shakespeare in the park in September! It's a big cast - 22 people! They laughed at my jokes, bless them.
Then it was back to Texas Road House for steak! Yum. And I won a $30 gift certificate for another dinner!
And to top it all off, I heard from a friend far away with good news!
Smiles all around!
Hope your week is off to a great start!
