The Red House, Cambridge
Sep. 24th, 2008 10:35 pmTo celebrate having survived the beginning of the semester, a senior staffer in my office took the entire main office staff out for lunch! She accepted my suggestion - one of my favorites in Harvard Square - for The Red House. It's at 98 Winthrop Street, an almost-alley small street. It is actually an old house built about 1802. My family has been going there for years for birthdays and holidays. It's owned by the same guy that owns Charlie's around the corner and used to own Gianninio's in the Charles Hotel.
I made a reservation using opentable.com. They have great restaurant info, make it quick and easy to book, and let you accumulate points for future dining.
The Red House has a web site with their new autumn menu. Not sure how to describe the food...modern American? A slight tinge of Italian? http://www.theredhouse.com/theredhouse.htm

It's the perfect place for a business lunch or a special personal meal. Quiet, classy room, and great food!
