We had a Delicious (with a capital D!) breakfast at Singabella Cafe this morning. We're batting 2 for 2 with new restaurants this weekend.

According to the glowing reviews on Yelp, it's been open for two months, at the corner of Cameron Ave. and Mass Ave. in North Cambridge, on the bike path, just past the bus barn in the corner of the new Trolley Square condos building. We got parking very close by on Mass. Ave. and were the only people in the place at 10 am, then it began to fill in. The cashier and cook were welcoming and helpful. The interior is very nice - spacious and decorated simply with taste. You can sit by one of the big windows overlooking the bustle of Mass. Ave. or choose the quiet side and lovely landscaping of the condo complex.

They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. No delivery or web site I could find. They are open Monday 7 am - 3 pm, Tues-Fri 7 am - 9 pm and Sat/Sun from 8 am to 8 pm.

You order at the front and pay, and the cashier or cook brings it out to you. There were lots of choices...eggs, omelets, frittatas, pancakes, french toast with various special combos and touches. Several people were eating their signature French toast with apple, walnut, banana and whipped cream. Most of their menu items are vegetarian as listed, but when we asked they were glad to add meat.

We tried a three items:
$6.95 - four cheese omelet with canadian bacon, home fries and toast,
$9.95 - eggs benedict (served on Sat/Sun) and
$4.50 - a side of corned beef hash.

I recommend taking someone to share food with, as the portions are HUGE! The omelet was incredibly thick and fluffy - the best I've tasted in a long time. The eggs benedict was good - the Hollandaise heavy on the mustard but I like it that way. The potatoes weren't exciting, just big cubes of dry potato...made me long for Zoe's version of home fries - but dipped in the sauce were passable. The hash was excellent - the smooth kind cooked on the grill.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I saw a "serve yourself" area which means you can get exactly what you want and fast. The other drinks are rather boring, bottled stuff from a cooler on the side.

The lunch and dinner menu makes me want to go back soon to try their Italian thin crust pizzas, pasta dishes like pumpkin ravioli with cream sauce, kerry gold dubliner cheese and chicken risotto with veggies, chicken marsala, gnocchi pomodoro, or soups/salads, grilled paninis, or the Mediterranean fare like hummus, taboli, baba ganoujj, grape leaves, tabouli or foulle moudamas. They also list kebabs! Not sure how I will ever choose, so frequent visits may be required.

Definitely recommend this place for breakfast! Try it before it gets "discovered" by the masses.

I picked up a menu shortly after it opened. Everything looks so good, so i really want to try it. But DELIVERY would make SUCH a big difference.
Breakfast is a good idea... I don't need that delivered.
