Highland Kitchen dinner

We had a marvelous dinner at Highland Kitchen, the Southern cooking place on Highland Ave. near City Hall. http://www.myspace.com/highlandkitchen
It has a great split personality, half "bar food" and half gourmet treats from a serious chef, all fabulous.
Their free fresh sourdough bread and butter is divine.
We tried several of their blackboard specials:
Heirloom tomato gazpacho (completely pureed, spicy red mixture, tasted like a Bloody Mary)
Chicken nuggets with Medjool date sauce
Grilled chorizo and shrimp skewers over fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce
Then a couple of favorite on the menu
Deviled eggs
Pappardelle pasta with bolognese sauce
You can tell with the first bite that they have a "serious chef" who thinks about every ingredient and how they taste together. And it makes me want to eat every bite, and go back soon for more.
