We regularly order dinner delivered from City Slicker Cafe through Foodler.com, but had never eaten at the restaurant. We ended up there last night. They definitely rate high on my "cheap, fast and good" scale. It's comfort food.

They used to be Urban Gourmet in Ball Square, but had a fire and ended up down on Somerville Ave. halfway between Porter and Union Square. It's a pizza place, but seems more like a diner. They've done a lot of little things to make it more stylish - matching paint and ceramic napkins trays that coordinate with the menu colors.
We order their tater tots, bowtie pasta Bolognese, spicy sausage pasta, Cuban sandwich, or shrimp/bacon pizza. They often have corn chowder or other soups as well. The last time we ordered food delivered, there was a little note on the bag listing their Fall specials and new menu items. I wanted them all! You can't order them on Foodler - you have to call there and they'll deliver. I can recommend:
Shepherd's Pie - sort of beef stew with potatoes on top. YUM.
Mac & cheese - the baked kind, with bread crumbs on top.
N. tried their BLT wrap - huge and good.
Another friend tried the turkey, brie and green apples sandwich.
Asian pork dumplings (gyoza)
It's all good but dessert was the best part - a RED VELVET CUPCAKE! It comes with a nonpareil on top, and a chocolaty center. 10 seconds in the microwave made it the most divine dessert I've had in a long time...for $2.75!
